What does gratitude mean to you? For a lot of the adaptive golfers that the US Adaptive Golf Alliance has touched over the years, gratitude means having the opportunity to engage in the fabric of society through the game of golf. Through circumstance, these golfers -some new to the sport, others having experienced it at some point in their life- are navigating life overcoming challenges.
In the coming days and weeks, we will introduce you to some of these youth, men, and women so that you can get a glimpse into their journey. The common thread they all share is that they focus on their ability and what they CAN and DO accomplish. With USAGA, its programs, and competitions connecting them to the game of golf, they have found a place to be included as they navigate through the course of life.
During our End of the Year appeal that kicks off on Tuesday, November 30, and continues through December 31, we will be raising funds to continue to offer programming, golf outings, and competitions for adaptive golfers all over the country. Each year we touch the lives of over 35,000 disabled, of which approximately 26% are wounded veterans.
And, thanks to the generosity of Mr. Stewart Dansby, donations will be matched during the appeal period up to a maximum of $25,000. Additionally, to show our appreciation, we will send you a copy of The Power of Golf. This book that features the personal stories of how the game of golf has had a positive impact on the lives of adaptive golfers.
Will you help us support the adaptive golf community engage in the fabric of society?
