Set Apart Disc Golf is a community of disc golfers who love Jesus and love the game.

We exist to glorify God on and off the course, using disc golf as a way to build relationships, encourage one another in faith, and spread the gospel.

Hey Team Set Apart Disc Golf family,

I wanted to pause for a moment and come to you all with complete transparency, because this group was built on and continues to stand on community, trust, and doing things the right way.

As this group continues to grow (which is such a blessing), I’ve been praying and thinking about how we can communicate better without unintentionally overwhelming people with posts or plans that they may not be able to attend simply due to distance or timing.

With that in mind, I wanted to get the group’s opinion on creating a separate group chat specifically for players who are local and able to participate in last-minute rounds, local events, meetups, and boots-on-the-ground opportunities. This would help keep the main group clean, encouraging, and relevant for everyone, while still allowing local players to stay connected and active together.

This smaller chat would be known as “The Core Team,” and if this is something the group is comfortable with, Velvety Jones would serve as the Team Captain, helping coordinate and keep things aligned with the heart of Team Set Apart.

I want to be very clear about one thing:
This would not create tiers of importance or value. Everyone here matters. Everyone belongs. This would simply be a practical way to steward communication well and respect everyone’s time and location.

Before anything moves forward, I genuinely want to hear your thoughts.
✅ Are you okay with this idea?
✅ Do you have concerns or suggestions?
✅ Is there a better way to handle it?

Please know how deeply grateful I am — from the bottom of my heart — for every single person who has joined this journey so far. What we’re building together is special, and I don’t take that lightly for a second.

Thank you for your grace, your honesty, and for walking alongside me as we continue to grow this community the right way.

Much love and appreciation always 🤍🥏

Just trying to see what the Interest would be if we did some merch. I’ve asked some in the group chat but some aren’t in there. Hoodies, t shirts (short and long sleeve) beanies, hats etc.

Today our pastor spoke about walking through the doors God opens—and having the faith to simply say yes when He calls.

“I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut.”
—Revelation 3:8

Very quickly it's becoming clear that Set Apart Disc Golf is more than a group or a name. It’s a calling. God has opened a door in a place we already love—the course—and we believe He’s inviting us to walk through it with obedience and boldness.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart… and He will make your paths straight.”
—Proverbs 3:5–6

This team is about showing grace, competing with integrity, building real community, and being a light—without forcing it. Just living out our faith one round, one conversation, one throw at a time.

“Here am I. Send me!”
—Isaiah 6:8

We believe God is calling us to say yes—yes to growth, yes to stepping out in faith, and yes to letting Him use disc golf for something far bigger than the scorecard.

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
—Ephesians 2:10

If this resonates with you—if you love disc golf, love Jesus (or are curious about Him), and feel called to be part of a faith-driven, encouraging community—we want you here.

Please share this post and invite someone you believe would be a great fit. Communities like this grow one act of obedience at a time—and your share might be the open door God uses for someone else.

Let’s keep walking.
Let’s keep saying yes.

Team Set Apart Disc Golf is very much in its beginning stages—and we want to be clear about that.
This team literally started while many of us were snowed in this past Monday, praying, talking, dreaming, and feeling led to create something different. There was no launch plan, no merch rollout, no incentives—just obedience and a shared conviction.

This team was never meant to be about what you can get.
It’s about what you’re willing to give.

We’re not handing out free merch.(yet).
We’re not offering discounts or perks.(yet).

What we are giving away—freely and boldly—is the Good News of Jesus Christ and the testimony of what He has done in each of our individual walks.

“For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.”
— 2 Corinthians 4:5

Many of us already play disc golf with a purpose.
For some, it’s fun.
For some, it’s therapy.
For some, it’s peace, healing, or community.
And for most of us, it’s a mixture of all of that.

But here’s the challenge:
What if we’re not just playing with a purpose…
What if we’re playing FOR a purpose?

“Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
— 1 Corinthians 10:31

Team Set Apart Disc Golf exists to create space where faith and disc golf don’t have to be separated—where we step onto tee pads not just as players, but as ambassadors for Christ.

“We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us.”
— 2 Corinthians 5:20

This is about character over clout.
Service over self.
Witness over recognition.

“In humility value others above yourselves.”
— Philippians 2:3

To everyone who has already committed to this journey—thank you. Truly.
Thank you for stepping into something that’s still forming.
Thank you for choosing obedience over comfort.
Thank you for being willing to give more than you receive.

We are just getting started, but we are grounded in Him.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
— Matthew 6:33

Grateful for each of you who is walking this out with us. 🥏🙏

I want to take a moment to welcome every single member who has joined the team up to this point. I truly wish I could do a personal introduction for each of you, but with the way this group is growing, that would take quite a while—and that’s a good problem to have.

Please know this: your presence here is deeply appreciated. Each of you brings value, heart, and purpose to this team, and I don’t take that lightly. I’m genuinely grateful that you’ve chosen to be part of what we’re building together.

This team isn’t just a name or a logo—it’s people. People willing to show up, encourage one another, and represent faith through the game we love. Remember, there’s no pressure to be anything other than who you are. Just be present, be supportive, and be willing.

Thank you for saying yes.
Thank you for standing with us.
Thank you for being Team Set Apart. 🙏🥏

We’re just getting started—and I’m honored to walk this journey with you all.
