Take aways from this week: (Longer post!)
We truly have some awesome kids! I knew this already, but getting to see them work through some really frustrating situations with their robots, and the way they kept pushing themselves to do better was so rewarding.
When we set the bar high for our kiddos, they do their best to reach it! We saw this each time we pushed them to try something new - from meeting new people to reworking their robot and/or code. And public speaking? Oh my goodness, that really pushed them out of their comfort zone! No matter what we through at them, they continued to rise to the challenge.
Mrs. Wall and I enjoyed working with them throughout the summer as we got ready for this conference. We got to see their goofy side and were constantly entertained by their antics. We loved seeing that goofy side come out during the conference! (See the dancing Sidni video for reference.)
To wrap up our week, we attended the closing ceremony tonight. We got to celebrate the growth and accomplishments of all the teams. We were surprised by a couple of things that happened at the ceremony.
Caleb Avila earned enough points to get 3rd place in Junior Botball! Next year, he plans on working even longer to get more points so that he gets a 1st place trophy!
Our students awarded the Outstanding Middle School trophy by KIPR. I know how awesome our kids are, so it was a welcome surprise to learn that KIPR recognizes it, too! (We missed you, Sam!)
Once again, thank you for your support and encouragement! We could not have made it here without the love and support of our parents and community.
