PlayVs Cup

Our Street Fighter 6 team has been invited to play in the PlayVS Cup. The PlayVS Cup is a national tournament with teams that won state and regional finals.

The tournament starts today and runs through June 4-5. Your SF6 team current has a 6th seed which has earned us a first round bye. We will be in action on Thursday May 21st and will face the winner of Hunter High School (Utah) and Aldine ISD (Texas).

PLAYOFF PICTURE

Three of our Esports teams have made this years Spring Playoffs.

On Monday April 13, the Gold Smash team (Ben P., Sawyer L., Lucas G.) will be in action at 5:00 pm. Gold Smash finished regular season 4-4 and ranked 70th, but have made the playoff round of 64 with the 63rd seed. They face number 2 seed Harlan County High School with a record of 8-0.

On Tuesday April 14th, our Madden player Deason S. will be in playoff action at 5:00 pm. Deason finished the year with a 6-2 record ranked 7th. He plays a Central High School opponent that is also 6-3 and ranked 10th. The Madden playoff takes the highest 16 ranked teams.

Depending on the results of those two games, Smash could play again on Wednesday and Madden on Thursday. They are working on earning a trip to UK’s esports arena on April 23 for the state playoffs.

But we have one team that had punched their ticket for that date already!! The Street Fighter 6 team of Ben P., Sawyer L. And Aiden B. have completed the regular season 8-0 and the 1st place ranking. SF6 is a new game this year and only the top four teams will compete in the playoffs in person at the Esports State competition in Lexington at UK’s Esports area. They are set to take in number 4, Shelby County High School with a regular season record of 5-3.

Week 8 day 3 Last Day of Regular Season

Congratulations to Mario Kart 8 on their win last week against their Nicholas County opponent. Lily, Parker, Aden and Ryne sweep their opponent 2-0. Congrats. They finish 3-5 and ranked 45

In Madden, Deason face a Fredrick Douglas student and lost by a score of 14-38 to obtain his second loss of the year. Deason finished the year 6-2 and ranked 7th which moves him on to the playoffs.

Splatoon had a rescheduled game against Muhlenberg County. Despite their best efforts, Splatoon failed 0-3. Yet Splatoon had a successful season finishing at .500 with a 4-4 record and narrowly missing the playoffs with a 10 seed ranking.
