Every nine weeks, TCMS recognizes the student at the Top of the Class in each grade level core content area (ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies), as well as extracurricular classes (Agriculture, Art, Band, Choir, Creative Writing, and STLP -Student Technology Leadership Program).

These students are determined by the highest overall score in the gradebook for that class. Ties are broken by looking at formative assessments, late work, and previous 9-week scores when needed.

The Top of the Class students receive a certificate and a treat, have their names called over the intercom, and their picture taken. Their pictures are featured in the wall displays for "Top of the Class" until the next grading
