Thank you to Crystal Rau for taking this picture. It defines our club and the tenacity of these two young women. Hallie came to us from BJJ and has spent the last few years developing into a monster with her blast doubles, relentless pursuit for a cross face cradle and a work ethic that is unmatched. She built that into a State Championship resume.
Mahika came to us this year with a thirst to get better. We improved her technique, built up her confidence and now she can compete with anyone in the state. She ended up 2nd only to Hallie and beat some tough competition to qualify for open state.
Hallie and Mahika were in the same weight class for qualifiers, open state and girls state. They sharpened each other all year long, beat the absolute snot out of each other when they competed then walked off the mat teammates again.
I can't wait to look back at this picture in 10 years and see both of these women at the top of the podium in college. They are both amazing learners, so coachable and continue to make strides everyday.

Congratulations to Hallie Burgess on her first State Championship! Hallie is the type of athlete that asks how high when you tell her to jump. She is a fearless warrior when it comes to battle and knows how to execute when the time comes. Hallie spent the summer not only wrestling but focused on increasing her speed, agility and stamina. Because of her commitment in the off season, she gets stronger as the match goes on. Hallie has a blast double from hell that turns heads and will send anyone flying. We can't wait to see Hallie grow even further and look forward to many more years to come.

Congratulations to Jacob Barrett on his first state championship! Jacob is the epitome of hard work. After losing a heart breaker in last year's state tournament, Jacob battled back to take Third. That spring, he won both Greco and Freestyle Georgia State Championships, competed on the 14 National Dual Team, wrestled all summer on several National Folkstyle teams and came back this Fall with a chip on his shoulder. Jacob is one of the most coachable athletes, busts his butt every practice, sets an example and delivers when the moment comes. We cannot be more proud of Jacob and look forward to seeing him have even more success this off season. .

Yesterday concluded only our third season as a program and we made history again. We brought down 19 athletes and 10 of them placed with two more finishing 5/6. We as a coaching staff have so much gratitude for our parents and athletes for the perseverance, sacrifice, time and commitment they have given us this year. We were by far the loudest cheering section and our parents stayed to watch all of our athletes compete, even if it was the next day!

We are continue to build a culture and community of wrestling that extends past the mats into the lives of our families. Thank you so much for everything you all have provided and we look forward to a successful off season to continue to make history again!
