We are stoked to have Factory Tracks providing us another killer layout for the U.S. Open Fuel Championships December 8-10 2923. This one will be the best one yet.

Good news and bad news. Bad news first ! Mother Nature has struck again and we are canceling practice tonight. Good new is that I will pump tomorrow and will be ready for Saturday for sure. Friday might be questionable but will let everyone know ASAP.

Gates at 8 racing at 11 on Saturday.

Sign ups will be open Friday 11-1 and reopen from 3-4 . Also will
Be open 7-8 am on Saturday morning. Remember, we are a cash facility so please bring cash. To practice from 12-6 pm on Friday, you will need a wristband and paid have paid your entries. There will be no seeding. Practice from 6-8 pm(cancelled) so practice is only from 12-6 friday. We will also have practice Saturday morning from 7-8 then a drivers meeting at 8:30 and racing beginning at 9. We will run three qualifiers on Saturday and then mains on Sunday. Well its time for the Open to make its return to Az!

As we move the US open back to Phoenix we will be changing the dates as well. We will post soon what the dates will be.

The dust has settled and 2021 US Open Championships is over. I like to attend this event because of the IFMAR format and brutal conditions that resemble some world events I’ve attended in the past. The track was definitely challenging and my speed and consistency was up and down all weekend. I could never quite get the handle on this years conditions even though I was lucky enough to get the Nitro buggy TQ.

Our camp site was great and I was surrounded by a fun and supportive group all weekend. We took turns helping in the pits, tuning engines, talking tires and testing for each other. The Mugen vehicles were solid which allowed me to start 4th in E-Buggy and start the Semi-Finals in the number 1 spot.

In the E-Buggy main I was able to stay in the hunt and finish 3rd overall on a very deteriorating track and surface. Congrats to Ty Tessmann on the win and Jared Tebo in 2nd.

The semi-finals felt a little rough but I managed to finish and start 4th on the A-Final starting grid. Something didn’t feel quite right so I rebuilt and went through the car for the Finals. Going up the drivers stand for the main, it was a treat to be handed $500 from the race organizer courtesy of the Showers Family for the A-main drivers.

The main event didn’t quite go so well. I started solid but the inconsistency caught up and soon I was back in 4th. I felt some issues in the drivetrain coming in and it was just a matter of time before I needed to retire from the main and become a spectator. We watched a crazy battle between Ty, Spencer and Jared and I’ve never seen so much time lost and gained in 3 to 5 minutes of track time. The track was definitely getting the best of everyone but Ty managed it best and took the win, Jared placed 2nd and Spencer in 3rd who had some great moments and leading at times during the main event.

This year we have some heavy hitters like Ryan Maifield, Ty Tessman, Jared Tebo, Spencer Rivkin, Denney, Spencer Hecker and Cole Ogden "The Peoples Champion" coming out to mix it up for $5000 in total prize money. We will be live all weekend long bringing you all the action! Btw, we will not be taking PayPal or other forms of payment except cash unless you want to pay 66 dollars per entry. PayPal fees cost is and we try to keep the cost of this race down and pretty much give it all back to the race.
