The Miami hit & run accident that occurred on Wednesday night is the first one I know of that will be affected by “Lucy’s Law”. Bottom line…if you’re the operator of a vessel that’s involved in a boating accident, you no longer can leave the scene in FL if it causes property damage, injury, or death. The penalties are steep and potentially life-altering. Ignorance is not a defense. Know the law!
