Caribou Parks and Rec concluded its grade 1&2 soccer yesterday before the harvest break starts. Two groups, 7 sessions, 75 total soccer players and the weather was great!! Can’t ask for a better season! In just a few short weeks basketball starts for these guys. Hope you all had fun!

Fi****ms Hunter Safety 2026 ✔️ Congratulations to this group of students for completing the requirements from Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife to become certified in the Fi****ms Hunter Safety Program. This course covers all the requirements from the state including land owner relations, hunter ethics, safe handling of fi****ms, map and compass, first aid and survival.
Thank you to regional safety coordinator Dan Robertson for helping organize this course as well as safety instructor Bill Schofield for teaching Map & Compass, Warden Alan Dudley for covering rules and laws, David Lee for covering hunter ethics, Jamie Houston for covering landowner relations, Chuck Ainsworth for covering safe handling of fi****ms and survival and Derrick Ouellette from Aroostook EMA for covering first aid.
This annual course is taught once a year at the end of August and beginning of September.

Another incredible Take It Outside Adult Series adventure! This time we traveled to Saint Andrew’s, New Brunswick. Upon arrival we made our way across the ocean floor, of course at low tide, to Minister Island. Home of William Van Horne, who notably completed the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railroad in half the projected time and half the cost. Before the tide returned, we had to make quick feet and get off the island while we still could. Later that day we explored downtown Saint Andrew’s before eating dinner together that evening. On Friday we had a guided tour of the Kingsbrae Gardens in downtown Saint Andrew’s before returning to Caribou later that afternoon.
