One more reason to keep those grades up: Merit scholarships are based on high school courses and grades (and testing when we aren't in the middle of a pandemic).
High School Grades Could Be Worth $100,000. Time to Tell Your Child? Most colleges and universities now use a “merit” aid strategy to solicit teenagers. Your eighth grader probably ought to know how it works.
