Here’s a fun Sunday evening fact for you. The F in Walther Arms PDP-F actually stands for F***y Pack. Because it’s a great gun for a f***y pack. HQ will tell you that’s not true but they just don’t want people to know so don’t bother calling and asking.

A small star on a sleeve. Insignificant to most people but to those who know, it means a lot of things. 20 year ago today a tiny little town outside of my college let me be their police officer. And the story began. I left that tiny town and college to go police in a capital city where I would be immersed in policing and get a solid foundation that would carry me to where I am today. Opportunity would present itself to let me travel the world with Homeland Security before returning to my roots policing on the street. If you had asked me 20 years ago if in my career I would have influence in a technology improving those who police, or hell even make a SWAT team let alone have the honor of commanding one, I probably would have laughed at you. To those working on the first hash on their sleeve: Immerse yourself in policing. You get one shot at your legacy then you walk away. On this my 20th year I’m smarter, faster, stronger, and more qualified to do what I do than I have ever been. It’s because I had good mentors and friends who pushed me to be that way. I’m glad I get to feel that way because there’s a lot of star sleeved guys who are the opposite. That’s your choice to make. I don’t know how many more I’ve got but man this last 20 has been a ride and I can’t wait for some more.

In today’s episode of, I’m basically LARPing given my position. I use my fiber cam for a hostage rescue. The hostage was my daughter’s phone and the offender was the stair stepper at the gym that it fell into. Hostage was successfully located and got positive separation. What’s the oddest use you’ve had for one of your tools?

Thankful for a little time to decompress. It’s important to give your mind a break every once in a while. Yes, tasks are important and things need to get done. But not everything has to or can be done right now. Being Tactically Sound is also keeping your mind sharp and that can’t happen if it’s always running at 100. What do you do to decompress?

New vest goofin. So I’m about 2 degrees from LARPing but I still occasionally am in a position to get at it. Your vest should support what you need to do. For me if I’m there and it gets to the point of go time we HAVE to get in and go. This setup gives me those options. With a Good Dude Concepts BRB in a hyperion.strategies Rapid Breach Carrier and the other essentials I can accomplish just about anything I’d need to in the “right now”. Oh and this FirstSpear SOV, I’ve loved it since I saw it years ago and it’s everything that I knew it was going to be. Perfectly scalable like the acronym claims.
