Shoutout to the Lion's cross country team for showing out this weekend at the 5 Star Stride . The JV Girls and JV Boys cross country both took first place as a team. The JV ladies were led with a first place finish from Mayte Mata and top ten finishes from Sydney Mount, Stella Dalton, Annabelle Daugherty, and Londyn Elton. The JV Boys were led with top ten finishes from Alex Peek, Levi Layton, Joseph Crawford, and Jonathan Martinez. The varsity boys placed third out of fifteen teams, securing victory over region rivals Southeast Whitfield, Heritage, and Northwest Whitfield. The varsity boys were led by Parker Ferguson and Casey Thornton who placed third and fourth overall. The varsity girls took home first place led by a first place finish by Lucy Barker and top 20 finishes from Lorelei Daugherty, Karley Bowen, Aliyah Ayers, Bella Abernathy, and Claudia Lucas who placed 3rd, 7th, 8th, 11th, and 20th respectively.
