Week 2 in the books for our Prestonwood Christian Academy Middle School Program! ⛳️

Our 7th & 8th grade athletes continued building a strong foundation in their full swing, while also sharpening their skills on the greens. This week, we introduced key putting fundamentals—focusing on distance control and keeping the face square on short putts—two essentials for lowering scores and building confidence.

Player development at this stage is all about creating solid habits, understanding fundamentals, and learning how each part of the game connects. It’s been exciting to see the growth already, and we’re just getting started.

We’re looking forward to the next few weeks as these juniors continue to develop their skills, gain confidence, and take their game to the next level.

What a week it has been for Austin Smotherman 👏

From life-changing moments off the course to incredible shots on it…

On Monday night, the No. 90-ranked player in the world welcomed a baby girl—his fourth child ❤️
Less than three days later, he delivered a moment to remember—an ace on the par-3 13th at TPC San Antonio—and now sits just three shots back at the Valero Texas Open after an impressive 4-under 68.

All of this in pursuit of a spot in the Masters Tournament next week.

A little closer to home—Smotherman’s journey connects right here to the DFW golf scene:
• Originally from Loomis, California
• Played collegiate golf at Southern Methodist University
• Now calls Dallas home

From fatherhood to fairways, this is what the game is all about.

We’re excited to introduce Dallas Litzenberg, our new Golf Course Superintendent here at Coyote Ridge Golf Club!

Dallas brings over 30 years of experience in the industry and is a proud graduate of Oklahoma State University (Class of 1990 – Go Pokes!). His career includes an incredible 22 years at Cascades Country Club, along with hosting 13 Texas State Opens—a true testament to his expertise and leadership.

Off the course, Dallas has been happily married to his wife Robin for over 30 years, and together they have three adult children.

We’re thrilled to have his passion, experience, and vision shaping the future of our golf course.

If you see Dallas out on the course, be sure to say hello and give him a warm Coyote Ridge welcome!
