💜🩵 More Than a Game. A Community Standing Together. 🩵💜
Earlier this week, our neighboring community experienced an unimaginable loss with the death by su***de of a freshman student-athlete at Dover High School.
On behalf of Carrollton Youth Football & Cheer, our hearts break for the Beachy family, his classmates, teammates, coaches, teachers, friends, and the entire Dover community as they navigate a loss no family or community should ever have to face.
This Saturday, our Youth Varsity team will take the field against Dover’s Youth Varsity team. But this weekend, we are so much more than two teams on opposite sidelines.
We are one community of parents, coaches, athletes, families, and friends — standing together for a fellow student, athlete, son, teammate, and friend.
In his honor, we are having special shirts made for our athletes, families, and community members who would like to show their support. Shirts are $20, with half of the proceeds going directly to the Beachy family.
💜 Orders placed by 2:00 PM TODAY will be available for Saturday’s game.
🩵 Orders placed after 2:00 PM will be delivered at our following game on September 26.
💜 The online store will remain open through Friday.

As Vice President of Carrollton Youth Cheer, I cannot adequately express how proud and humbled I am by what I have watched happen within our organization over the last few hours.
I am grateful for our coaches who immediately stepped forward and asked how we could involve our cheerleaders and football players in showing support. I am grateful for the parents who volunteered their time to coordinate the shirts and fundraiser so that we could help the Beachy family during an unimaginable time.
And I am incredibly proud of our young athletes.
They will wear purple and teal this weekend in honor of a peer they did not have to know personally to be moved by his life and his story. There is something incredibly powerful about watching young people understand that compassion doesn’t require knowing someone’s name, attending the same school, or wearing the same colors.
Sometimes being part of a team means showing up for people outside of your own.
