Kyle's legacy.

The family of Kyle Liam Barry, a 2008 honor graduate of Carrollton High School, has established a scholarship to honor the memory of the son, brother, cousin, teammate and friend who played with distinction for the Trojan Varsity Soccer Team all four years of his high school career and who continued to play soccer at the next level on an academic/athletic scholarship at Reinhardt University before completing his studies at the University of Georgia in 2012. This scholarship recognizes soccer players who distinguish themselves in the classroom, on the field, and most important, in their character. This year’s recipient is Sam Awbrey. Family members on hand for the presentation are, from left, father Glen Barry, Karlie Hungerford, Kim Hungerford, Shae Hungerford and Brian Hungerford. The presentation was made at the 31st annual CHS Academic Achievement Awards Program April 21 at the Joshua Mabry Center for the Arts.

The Willie and Kyle Barry Memorial is done save for the park benches. Pleased with how it turned out and thankful for the help of many and the City of Carrollton. Watch here for news on the dedication ceremony.

Breaking my social
media silence to show progress on he memorial.

Visible signs of progress at the soccer fields. Memorial to be erected by first spring games. Shout out to Walt Hollingsworth and Hollingsworth Concrete for donating the concrete for the memorial.

Had a very productive meeting today with City and Parks and Rec reps re building the Memorial. Goal is to complete by March 1 building pad and shelter. City said he have perfect stone to mount plaque on. We suggest these benches.
