The road to Futures. 🌊🔥

This weekend, our qualified Tigersharks are racing at the USA Swimming Futures Championships—one of the highest levels of competition for club swimmers. Futures serves as a stepping stone between Sectionals and Junior Nationals/Nationals, bringing together swimmers from across the region who have achieved challenging qualifying standards.

Just qualifying for this meet is an accomplishment that reflects countless early mornings, tough practices, and unwavering dedication.

Now it's time to trust the training, race with confidence, and enjoy the opportunity to compete against some of the fastest swimmers in the country.

Good luck to all of our Tigersharks this weekend! We're proud of everything you've done to get here. Swim fast, have fun, and leave it all in the pool! 🐯💙

What a way to kick off the Sierra Swim League season! ☀️🏊

Our beginner swimmers had an incredible time at their first SSL meet of the summer. From first races to personal bests, every swimmer stepped up with courage, determination, and plenty of smiles.

With beautiful weather, great competition, and teammates cheering each other on every step of the way, it was the perfect reminder that swimming is about so much more than times on the clock. It's about building confidence, making friends, learning something new, and having fun along the journey.

We're so proud of everyone who dove in, raced hard, and represented the Tigersharks with enthusiasm and sportsmanship.

Bishop never disappoints! ☀️🏊

A recap for when our Tigersharks headed to Bishop for one of our favorite meets of the year. Between great weather, fast swimming, and plenty of team bonding, it was a weekend to remember.

From cheering each other on behind the blocks to spending time together at the bowling alley, our swimmers showed what being part of a team is all about. The friendships built outside the pool are just as important as the races inside it.

Of course, there was plenty of good old-fashioned racing too. Personal bests, tough competition, and countless moments of grit and determination made for an exciting weekend of swimming.

Thank you to our coaches, families, and swimmers for making Bishop such a special tradition. We’re already looking forward to next year!

🎓 Senior Spotlight: MacKenzie 🐯🦈

Today we celebrate senior swimmer MacKenzie Pierce and 12 incredible years in the sport!

Since joining the Tigersharks in 2013, MacKenzie has been a dedicated teammate, fierce competitor, and a leader on the pool deck. Her favorite events are the 100 Butterfly and 500 Freestyle, and she says butterfly has always been her favorite stroke.

When asked about her proudest accomplishment, MacKenzie pointed to something bigger than any single race: staying determined and committed through all the ups and downs of the sport. That resilience has defined her Tigershark career.

Some of her favorite memories include long days at meets, snowy outdoor practices, Bishop weekends, and team dinners with friends. She credits Coach Julie for helping her develop her love of swimming and gives special thanks to Larkin, her teammate and friend since they were six years old.

This fall, MacKenzie will continue her swimming career at Long Island University while studying Biology on a pre-med track.

Her advice to younger swimmers: "Stay consistent because the hard work will pay off, and enjoy the journey because time sure does fly."

Congratulations, MacKenzie! Thank you for your dedication, perseverance, and the countless memories you've helped create. We can't wait to see what you'll accomplish next. 💙💛

🎓 Senior Spotlight: Larkin!

Today we celebrate senior swimmer Larkin and her incredible 12-year swimming journey with the Tigersharks!

Since joining the Tigersharks in 2014, Larkin has been a familiar face in the pool, a supportive teammate, and an important part of our Tigershark family. A freestyle specialist, her favorite event is the 200 Freestyle, and she loves taking on challenging freestyle pace sets in practice.

When asked about her proudest accomplishment, Larkin didn't mention a time or a medal. Instead, she shared that her greatest accomplishment has been finding her best friends and a place she can call home. That answer perfectly reflects the impact she has had on our team and the relationships she has built over the years.

Some of Larkin's favorite memories include singing karaoke during practice, competing at Age Group Championships in Clovis, enjoying team dinners at the Spaghetti Factory, and making annual trips to the Bishop Invitational. She credits Coaches Jim and Julie, along with longtime teammates Kenzie and Hannah, for helping shape her swimming journey.

As she graduates, Larkin says she will miss the close-knit Tigershark family and the connections she has made over the last 12 years.

This fall, Larkin will attend the University of Vermont, where she will continue her swimming career while studying Animal Science with the goal of becoming a veterinarian.

Her advice to younger swimmers: "Have fun and don't put too much pressure on yourself—enjoy every moment."

Congratulations, Larkin! Thank you for your dedication, friendship, and the countless memories you've helped create. We are excited to see what the future holds for you and will always be cheering you on. 💙💛

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT

Today we celebrate an incredible Tigershark, BeBe!

Over the past 9 years in the sport and since joining the Tigersharks in 2017, BeBe has made a lasting impact on our team through her determination, positivity, and commitment to excellence. From her favorite 400 Freestyle and IM races to becoming a gold medalist at the 2024 US Paralympic National Championships, BeBe has shown what it means to pursue big goals and never stop believing in yourself.

Some of BeBe's favorite memories include spending long meet weekends laughing with teammates on the pool deck, competing at the Jimi Flowers Meet in Colorado Springs, and taking part in the Running of the Sharks tradition. She credits Coach Julie for helping her through the process of earning her Paralympic classification and says she will miss swimming alongside her closest lane mates and friends the most.

This fall, BeBe will continue her academic and athletic journey at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, where she will compete for the swim team while double majoring in Physics and Astrophysics.

Her advice to younger swimmers: "Stick with swimming. Improvement will come, and swimming is one of the best ways to stay fit while building valuable relationships with teammates and coaches."

Congratulations, BeBe! We are so proud of everything you have accomplished and can't wait to see all that you achieve next. Once a Tigershark, always a Tigershark. 💙💛
