New episode is out on the podcast! Spiritual vs. Religious...
I’ve wrestled with this for years.
I love the community church can create…
but I’ve also seen how faith can turn into a system.
And when it becomes a system, it’s easy to go through the motions without being transformed.
This episode isn’t an attack.
It’s my story.
And I’m sharing it because I know I’m not the only one who’s felt this tension.

Most people don’t quit their New Year’s resolutions because they’re lazy.
They quit because they’re aiming at the wrong problem.
If you rely on motivation instead of systems, you’ll repeat the cycle every year and call it “lack of discipline.”
Clarity is uncomfortable.
But it’s the only path to real growth.

Blindspots Part 4
Insight feels productive. It feels like progress.
But knowing why you do something doesn’t mean you know how to stop doing it. Most people don’t need more self-awareness.
They need:
- a safer place to change
- honest accountability
- structure that fits their life
- A mirror outside their own head
Insight shows you the problem. Support changes it.

You didn’t wake up one day and decide who to be.
You adapted.
You became reliable because chaos punished mistakes.
You became strong because vulnerability wasn’t safe.
You became agreeable because conflict cost you connection.
That wasn’t weakness.
That was survival.
But if you never question the role you learned to play,
you’ll keep protecting an identity that isn’t yours.
Outgrowing expectations will disappoint people.
That doesn’t make it wrong.
So ask yourself this question:
Which role are you still playing that no longer fits?

Most people don’t fail because they’re weak. They fail because they’re still fighting battles that ended years ago. Your coping patterns were defense mechanisms. They helped you survive. But survival has an expiration date. You can’t keep hustling, isolating, avoiding, over-explaining, people-pleasing, or numbing and expect a healthy life to magically show up. Growth doesn’t ask, “How did you survive?”It asks, “Are you willing to retire the habits that got you here?” If a pattern helped you then but hurts you now, it’s not a strategy anymore. It’s a blindspot.
Ask yourself: Which of your ‘strengths’ might actually be sabotage?

Your biggest problem isn’t what you struggle with. It’s the stuff you swear isn’t a problem.
We all have blindspots not because we’re flawed,
but because survival taught us to look everywhere except the one place that needed honesty.
Blindspots protect us… until they start running our lives.
They show up in the way we shut down,
the way we over-explain,
the way we push people away,
the way we pretend we’re “fine.”
Part 1 of this series is about turning the lights on in the corners we’ve avoided.
Awareness doesn’t change you but honesty will.
And support will.

Integrity isn’t about what you say. It’s about who you are when no one’s watching.
