12U Canes Softball - Singer

Our last regular season tournament has come to a close. Our performance on Saturday was underwhelming. We were outscored 31 to 12, managed only 11 hits while giving up 21, and finished the day with a 1-2 record. We committed a multitude of errors, often perpetuating one mistake with another. Today, we bounced back by outscoring our opponents 26 to 15, securing 32 hits, and allowing 22, resulting in a 2-2 record. Unfortunately, our two losses today were again the result of errors. This team's has a tendency to be its own worst enemy.

The one thing in life no one can take from you are the memories you made along the way. Happiness is wealth, not money. These girls created memories on Saturday going 5-0 and out scoring their opponents 28-7. They were the #1 seed and earned every bit of it.

Although winning it all was awesome, the best part was seeing the smiles at the end of the day. The smile and flex that Gracie gave when she drove in 3 runs in the Championship game off of a double with 2 outs. The smile that Aubrey had when she drove in 2 runs in the Championship game off of double. The smile that Hadley gave when she stuck our several girls with a 0-2 count and giving them a change up. How pumped Brooklyn was when she beat out a play 1st. All 12 played a part, this is just naming a few.These are better than any ring won!

We are so EXCITED to announce Canes Singer 12U is transitioning to Canes - O'Kelley 12U 2032! Stepping in to take the girls to the next level are 2 collegiate players with a combined 30 years of experience. Coaches will not have a player on the team.

Yesterday, we seen this TEAM play as a TEAM. Down to the final out in the championship game, they battled it out. Our last two games came down to playing 6 and 7 innings. That's something that doesn't happen much, the umpires commented that they have not been apart of one of those games, much less 2 in a row in a very long time. In 2 years of coaching, this was my first and second 6+ innings.

We forced the batters to compete with our pitching. We made almost every defensively out possible. We forced the opponent to make outs on us as we batted great in the box. These girls wanted to hit!

This TEAM showed they can compete and challenge our opponents. I look forward to seeing these girls continue to grow!
