Superintendent Scott Letchworth has asked me to get out the word about a DNCR survey. The Park service is asking for our help in getting responses to their Summer Visitor Survey to ensure they have enough data to turn over to NC State to calculate State Parks local economic impact.

The park staff would be grateful if you filled out the survey. Please feel free to use your last visit to Umstead State Park for your answers and to pass this on to any of your friends who visit the park.

A section of the American To***co Trail in Wake County will be FULLY closed from Aug. 1 through Oct. 31 (dates subject to change) while crews repair areas damaged by a landslide during Hurricane Helene. The closure will extend from the Wimberly Road parking area to the entrance of the White Oak Creek Greenway.

During this time, the affected portion of the trail will be completely inaccessible. The Wimberly Road parking area will also be closed to visitors, and parking along the shoulder of Wimberly Road is not allowed. Please help spread the word!
