A gun threat outside your vehicle creates different obstacles, angles, and movement problems—but that does not mean you need an entirely new technique.
In this ClearSky lesson, Coach John demonstrates how familiar weapon-defense principles can be adapted around cars, trucks, hatchbacks, and confined parking-lot situations.
The first question is still:
What does the attacker actually want?
If they only want the vehicle and you can safely give it up, let the property go.
But if the threat changes—if they want you to move somewhere, get into the vehicle, or comply with commands that increase the danger—the problem changes too.
This lesson explores:
Property versus personal danger
Adapting weapon control around a vehicle
Losing normal footwork or striking options
Working in confined spaces
Recognizing when the attacker wants more than the car
Maintaining awareness while loading groceries or gear
Using familiar principles from unfamiliar positions
Why you should not invent a brand-new technique for every environment
The environment changes. The principles remain.
