Back at it…

Just finished this drum up for my friend Adam Adam Thomas Roye! He has been one of my biggest supporters with my drums and I am so happy to finally have this ready for him!

This is the first fully built drum (from wood board to final product) I have done since moving into the new house. Grad school has tremendously slowed down my drum building these days, but I am only one class away from finishing and I can’t wait to get back at it!

It’s a 6.75X13” cherry shell with a dark/light brown finish. I roughed up the hoops to give them a satin brushed look. Also used one of my newer smaller understated badges. Sounds killer!

The blank canvas is ready for finishing…

Found much smaller black bolts to pair with the new smaller badges. They came just in time to change out the chrome and send this one out to our customer today.

Classy Mahogany shell finished up for a return customer.

In other news, I will be cutting staves for the first time this week in the new shop to finally start production of more stave snare drums.

Really pretty Mahogany shell brought to me by a former customer. He wanted a vintage feel with a satin finish. Looking forward to getting this one done tomorrow and back to making shells this week!

Here is another piccolo finished up. Cranked it up and it has a fantastic pop! Had to be really careful with my measurements and drilling on this one to avoid the head resting on the lugs when tuned up like it is. Not a lot of room for error!
