š§ NEXT PLAY PERFORMANCE | TODAYāS SESSION
Worked with a high school freshman today who started our session by saying, āIām not playing well.ā
So we asked a few questions:
š What does playing well actually look and feel like to YOU?
We talked about it, visualized it, and wrote it down. Then we identified 3ā5 specific things that define playing well in their mindā things that have NOTHING to do with scoring.
The athlete signed a personal commitment to the things that they identified to focus on those controllable actions that help them, and ultimately, their TEAM be successful.
The lesson? Playing well isn't always about points, stats, or the scoreboard. It's about doing the little things, trusting yourself, and becoming the teammate your team needs.
Coaches and parents: This is a great exercise when your athlete feels they're struggling. Help them redefine what playing well means and focus on what they can control.
š§ NEXT PLAY. CONTROL WHAT YOU CAN CONTROL.
