3Spot Dance Troupe is an RSO at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. 3Spot Dance Troupe is a co-ed student choreographed and student run dance team.
Dance styles range from Contemporary, Hip-hop, Jazz, Lyrical, Modern, Pointe, Ballet, and Tap. We have auditions once at the beginning of the Fall Semester, and one at the beginning of Spring Semester. We have one show a semester, and members can choose to be in up to five dances. We have made the difficult decision to hold off on any rehearsals/performances this semester. Although we would love to be dancing together, keeping our dancers and others safe and healthy is our top priority! We hope to hold auditions and continue dancing next semester but until then please follow us on Instagram and Facebook to stay updated! Thank you to everybody who supported our members in our recent Instagram fundraiser for Black Lives Matter. With all of your help, we were able to donate a generous amount to the NAACP Legal Defense & Education Fund.
Disclaimer: We originally advertised that we’d be donating to Black Visions Collective, but they have since expressed that they would like donations directed elsewhere due to an overwhelming amount of support.
It is with great sadness that 3Spot Dance Troupe is announcing the cancellation of our spring performance, due to the recent outbreak of COVID-19, and our compliance with the University of Illinois’ policy regarding the pandemic. We are heartbroken to not be able to showcase all of our hard work over the course of this semester, especially for our seniors, who to some, have now had their very last dance performance taken away from them. Thank you, 3Spot friends and family, for your continued support. We’ll see you next semester. ❤️
