On December 2nd from 9 to 4, Charleston Triumph is hosting an unveiling of the new 2024 Triumph Scrambler 400x and Speed 400. Well here’s how the Tigers life has come to an end. It was a damn good bike that took me on tons of adventures over the course of 14,000 miles. Sadly, after being hit by cars twice in three years I don’t think I’ll be back on the road with an adventure bike and will stay in the woods with a dual sport

So for the second time in three years I was hit by a car while on my bike. This time an oncoming car crossed four lanes of traffic and hit me. I don’t remember to much of the impact and aftermath, the first thing I remembered was being face down and paramedic putting a c collar on me. After that I was in the ER at MUSC, the doctor who removed my helmet was impressed that I had a good solid helmet and he straight up said it certainly saved my life and my Klim gloves, Kevlar jeans, and Forma boots helped the rest. So as for injuries…my t7-t9 are fractured in my back, my left wrist is broken along with two ribs. My pelvis is bruised and my mobility is limited.

I can’t stress enough that it’s worth it to spend the money on good gear because you never know when you will put it to the test.
