YMCA of Greater Charlotte At the Y, strengthening community is our cause. We're more than a gym. We're a cause.

We work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. The Y is a charity, dedicated to youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. With programs from A to Z - like athletics to advocacy, dance classes to disease prevention, volleyball to volunteerism - we don't just strengthen individuals, we strengthen an entire community. Every day, we take on challenges that will shape our community's future - challenges like the academic achievement gap, obesity and social isolation. Together with our members, volunteers, donors and community partners, we make our community stronger by focusing on three philanthropic priorities:

- Driving academic achievement and inspiring kids to reach their greatest potential
- Tackling our community's greatest health challenges and improving quality of life
- Ensuring access and inclusion so that everyone has a chance to succeed and belong

At camp, every new skill is something worth celebrating! 🎉

At YMCA Camp Harrison and YMCA Camp Thunderbird, fun comes with opportunities to learn, set goals, and see progress. Campers are encouraged to explore a variety of activities, strengthen their skills, and work toward meaningful achievements.

Each camp has its own way of helping campers recognize how far they’ve come and take pride in what they can accomplish, summer after summer. These videos take a closer look at Camp Harrison’s Woods Program and Camp Thunderbird’s Bandana Program and how they turn camp activities into opportunities for growth.
