Team! Team! Team!
Last Friday I'm Charlottesville, Virginia I wrapped up my collegiate cross country career after Virginia Tech women were not given an at-large bid to Nationals. It still breaks my heart a little since this team deserved to go. The Hokie women posted arguably the best they ever have at the Regional meet with 4 All-Region runners. Until there is a change in the qualification system, so many rightful men and women will sit out a National meet. I hope this year sparks change in the years to come for all those who come after me. That they may have the rightful chance to compete and test themselves against the best. That's my wish for future generations of collegiate athletes. Though tears were shed, I don't think of this season at a loss. I had definitively the best season of my life after recording All-ACC and All-Region finishes in two deep races. I tested myself against the best and got closer than I ever have. The racing season isn't quite over as I continue training and hoping to test my legs one more time before taking a break. .
