Darkness is one hell of a coach
It will mold you & shape you into whatever you feed it.
It will take away everything that once lit your path and force you to forge ahead with no clear sight, only grit.
It doesn’t pick favorites. It doesn’t judge. It doesn’t flatter.
We all have periods of darkness, it’s what we choose to do with those times that define who we become.
I remember being so afraid of the darkness as a kid, yet constantly surrounded by it, allowing video games, sports and my computer to be my closest friends. Playing online games with strangers but becoming closer with them than I ever did with anyone in the real world. I’m sure some of you can relate. It’s what we still do here on Instagram.
I became an adult and what did I create with my life?
A safe place for my inner child, in front of a screen, away from coworkers, yet somehow playing a sport. One that only required me to give more effort, something I was definitely taught was required for love. More effort.
Only darkness blinded the ghost of my past and allowed me to realize my entire life was not by accident but rather a construct of my own imagination, finding somewhere I could be comfortable, just like those long nights spent alone as a kid. In front of my TV or Computer Screen.
I love the life I get to lead but realizing that it was a product of my own childhood comforts has startled me into an awakening of all sorts of different ways I can find joy in this life.
I encourage everyone to spend some time in the darkness, turn it all off and allow yourself to see clearly for the first time. No distractions.
It will define you, if you let it. After all, you really ARE in complete control of your destiny if you think about it.

Athlete Spotlight:
What could you accomplish if you just simply went all in, followed the plan, and kept your promises to yourself.
Transformation occurs when you come into alignment.
Align your actions with your goals.
Align your goals with your life.
Align your life with the process.
Align the process with your capabilities.
Align your capabilities with your potential.
It’s a step by step journey of figuring out what your body needs, if you can’t stay on plan for more than a few weeks how are you going to expect a different results?
Insanity is repeatedly doing the same thing and expecting different results.

Every single one of them that plans to step on stage deserves the level of care that is 100% required for their goal.
Nothing less.
If daily conversation and adjustment is what’s needed to get them to their next show, then that’s what they deserve.
For some of these guys, this is their Olympia. Give them everything you got because for them it will be a staple memory of their life.
I’m not talking about PED protocol’s here.
I’m talking about attention to detail.
I’m talking about matching their energy about their goals.
I’m talking about allowing them to push their limits and keeping them safe while doing so.
Since when is it our jobs to tell athletes whether or not “they have what it takes?”
We can be realistic about timelines and realistic about ceilings & please know I understand the difference between “poor genetics” and “genetic deficiencies” and there is a big one. A lot of people realistically should not compete for various reasons.
But don’t push them down, truth is, some dudes do this s**t and lose at national qualifiers and lose at pro qualifier & lose at pro shows & olympia Q’s for 5-10 years before winning at each of those levels.
People who were told they had “bad genetics” become kings of this sport when they persevere:
Nick Walker comes to mind.
Big Ramy.
Branch Warren.
Jay Cutler.
Dorian Yates was crushing Bodybuilders with far more talent.
If you give every athlete the benefit of the doubt and believe they can until their body proves them otherwise. In one way or another, they may just impress you.

Weight this week came back down to 236 which is exactly what we wanted.
Sitting at 325P, 449C, 120F on training days; 325P, 320C & 95F on Rest Days 🤭
Total compounds back below 300mg/Week.
15 Minute Outdoor Fasted AM Walks added back in, which has helped a ton.
Been getting some solid training sessions in with 💪
Knee still banged up, 6 weeks without training legs now but it’s been a blessing in disguise as my physique has balanced out nicely. I just miss training legs 😭
Very excited about the direction & I have my physique headed.
Fasted BG continuously sitting in the 80’s fasted nowadays which is unheard of for me in my career thus far. Hype about that.
Huge shoutout to .jason for the deep tissue/RPR work that has been very helpful. Weekly work with him, along with monthly work from should fix me up in no time!
Just taking the progress as it comes and not forcing anything, I think I’ve trained about 12 times in the last month and still progressing nicely.
Focused on my athletes first & foremost & excited for a big Summer & Fall from The CFam 🧬

Your previous ceiling can become your next floor, if you’re willing to learn the lesson that each season is teaching you.
Constant evolution. Constant adaptation.
Realizing I had been dealing with high functioning anxiety that had become less and less functioning as time went on, was a tough pill to swallow.
Realizing that, and then facing it head on helped me realize something profound though.
I had a ceiling, a cap to what I was capable of, and now I take that ceiling: my anxiety. And put it below my feet, creating a new floor and new ceiling.
Your previous limitations have the potential to become the very foundation for your next season of life.

This is an extremely exciting 3 weeks of progression for
We have really just been focused on reeling in & optimizing what was already going on, managing stress a lot better & just focusing on health markers right now.
Amanda makes my job easy, setting up what she knows she needs to continue progressing, that’s so impressive to me.
She has dropped about 3lbs and filled out significantly. I like where this is going. Look at the QUADS 😮💨

The picture on the left was taken February of 2022. The second one this morning.
Cycles of depression can seriously take so much from you and they show very clearly.
Learning to love the parts of me that have carried me for so long but no longer serve my life.
Facing the dude on the left in the mirror every day was tough, and escaping that reality into a new light has been terrifying.
But nobody ever said that finding yourself would be easy; they only said it would be worth it.
Those of you who have walked this journey with me the last 5 years have seen so much, but also not as much as I wish you had.
So here’s to showing a painstaking reality of what just a few months of choosing yourself first and making decisions that align with who you truly are can do for you.
Thanking God every day that I get to continue doing what I love with a strong group of people around me.
Thanks for never questioning who I was when even I had no idea.
The joy is in the journey and I am truly the happiest I have ever been because I enjoy the person I am, for the first time in a long time.
When you’re on your own journey, have Grace and love for the ones who don’t continue to choose you while extending yourself that same grace and love.
Break free from the character you’ve been chasing and just become…you! It really is that simple.
And it will truly change…everything.

Follow the clues that have been left by the Bodybuilders in the magazines.
They figured it out without your fancy research.
90’s bodybuilding was some of the best we’ve seen. And it was “in the gap” between no data, and all the “data”.
How about in 2022, we get back to that gap and realize when we’ve dug too deep or gone too far.
Apply the science to the clues, not the clues to the science.
That’s how you build huge, healthy & somewhat sustainable physiques.

I’m walking away…
Away from allowing others to fulfill their dreams in lieu of my own.
Away from negative mindsets and also away from toxically positive ones.
Away from choosing fake fame over impact.
Away from thinking I can do and handle it all myself.
Away from everything that has held me back for so long.
And you know what I’m walking towards?
Everything I’ve ever wanted and so much more.
Impact that stretches further than my name or face ever could.
Personal growth and development.
Making a change this industry desperately needs.
Healthier actions and lifestyle choices.
My future.
See, we’re all so focused on what we are either walking away from so we don’t see what we’re walking towards. Or what we’re walking towards, and not paying attention to what we’re walking away from.
Every action has a greater or equal reaction.
Every step toward something, is a step away from something else.
& every step away from something, is also toward something else.
So look back, look forward, look side to side, and just simply…
Take a walk.
The journeys better than the destination, always.
The journey IS the dream.
