Last Easter when the tornado came through the area, I couldn't prepare for what I was going to encounter. When we received the call to help EPB with the storm clean up, it became a unbelievable reality. We started out off at Igou Gap at Terry Lynn Dr. and have made our way to Holly Hills off Jenkins. The path of devastation the tornado left is indescribable and even pictures can't do it justice. During this time, the outpouring of everyone has been outstanding! My crews have had water, food and kind words constantly given. This is a time we are trying to help as much and as quickly as possible but the ones that have lost their homes and cars were the ones trying to give us support. To say humanity shines at its most vulnerable is an understatement. This just make us work harder to help these victims of such a horrible situation. Lastly, EPB has shown us what "Customer first" really means, because they tirelessly gave us direction on where we can be utilized the best to get everyone's lights back on. EPB wants everyone affected being being treated with the utmost care and professionalism. We know we are just one part of a bigger machine but I wanted to share what I/we've seen and experienced. I'd like to thank my workers, EPB and the people of Chattanooga.
