The World Union of Karate-Do Federations (WUKF) has written to the World Karate Federation calling for a joint approach to secure Karate in the Olympic Games.
“The Olympic Karate movement is at a historical crossroad. Our actions, as members and leaders of the karate community, will for forever shape the future of art we all love.
"For the sake of Karate. For the sake of the millions practicing Karate. For the sake of the millions of future Karate-Ka. I implore everyone to abandon the politics and cooperate. It is our duty.
"Together we can make Karate in the Olympics a reality again."
- Mr Joe Mirza, WUKF Vice President
