Community Update: Brooklyn Boulders Lincoln Park location will be permanently closing on the evening of July 31, 2022.

This decision pains our team. We love Lincoln Park and the community and staff that climb there.

We understand and share your disappointment and your concern for our team members who are impacted by this closure. We are immediately rehiring as many Lincoln Park team members as possible at West Loop and we hope to further grow the team as we continue to invest in our original Chicago location. This closure will not impact the BKB Queensbridge location.

BKB Gowanus, Eckington, and Somerville are now officially Brooklyn, D.C., and Boston Bouldering Projects!

As of today, Bouldering Projects has acquired our three locations in Brooklyn, D.C., and Boston. Here in Chicago at West Loop and Lincoln Park, we’ll continue to operate as Brooklyn Boulders and bring you the best-in-class climbing experience you’ve come to expect.

Much like BKB, the Bouldering Project strives to create spaces where all individuals can feel a sense of belonging in our sport and culture. Founded in Seattle in 2011 and built by climbers, the Bouldering Project set out to build a place that would broaden the horizons of what indoor climbing could be. Since then, they have built Bouldering Projects in Seattle, Austin, Minneapolis, and soon-to-open Salt Lake City. We wholeheartedly believe in what Bouldering Project stands for and its ethos as a company. Join us in celebrating this next chapter for our Gowanus, Eckington, and Somerville locations!

Our BKB Chicago locations will experience no major changes and you will continue to find BKB at our Queensbridge location as well as BKB West Loop and Lincoln Park.

🐝New Challenge Alert🐝 You probably wondered what these holds are for and why they've been up all last week. Well, routesetter @trtmike has a challenge for you! We're partnering with @elevation_climbing to bring you the #hiveholdschallenge The idea is to "Choose Your Own Adventure" and create a problem using only the pink hive holds. Use any. Use all. But showcase the process and share it on Instagram. Our setters will choose the best one and leave it up for the community to climb on. You have between December 20 to January 10 to submit entries. Did I forget to mention? The winning problem will win some sweet swag from Elevation 🔥🔥🔥 Rules: 🐝You must upload a clear video of you explaining your project, the beta, and either you or a friend sending the problem. Get creative with the content! You can split videos to highlight each item, but everything must be under 1 post 🍯You can only use the Pink Hive Holds. Use any of them to create the project. You do not need to use all of them 🐝You must use the hashtags #hiveholdschallenge and #bkbchicago for your post to count 🍯You can submit up to 2 different projects. The following areas will be closed at BKB Lincoln Park as we prepare for the USAC Youth Competition and True Grit Bouldering Comp on Saturday, December 4. Once a section is closed off, climbing WILL NOT BE ALLOWED in those area(s).
