We are deeply saddened by the death of Paul Reynolds
Paul’s life was defined by quiet leadership, selfless service, and an unshakable belief in the power of community. Paul gave decades of his life to promoting Gaelic games in Chicago—not for recognition, but out of love for the sport, the culture, and, most importantly, the people.
Paul was a pillar of the Chicago GAA community who will be missed immensely. From playing himself for The Chicago Limerick Hurling Club to then being instrumental in the formation of new clubs, first The Michael Cusack Hurling Club and then the youth club, of Chicago St. Jarlath's GAA and his experience both on and off the field shone through.
Paul gave his time and energy with unwavering generosity. He believed that Gaelic games were more than just sport—they were a way to strengthen community, build character, and preserve Irish culture.
We as a GAA community are indebted to his devoted commitment. His legacy is not only seen in the trophies on the shelf, but in the character of the young men and women who grew up under his watchful eye and encouragement.
As a community, we feel Paul’s loss deeply. But Paul’s legacy will live on—not only in his beloved children, Eamonn and Ronan, but in every child, he ever taught how to hold a hurl, to take pride in their jersey, and to believe in themselves.
We extend our deepest sympathy to Lizzie, Eamonn, Ronan, and everyone whose lives were touched by Paul.
"Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam uasal."

A heartbreaking day for the Chicago GAA Community 💚
Today is a terrible day. We have lost a Chicago GAA legend. Paul Reynolds passed away peacefully in his home this morning. Besides the decades of devotion he gave to our games, Paul was a true friend, a gentleman, and a loving father and husband who had a gentle smile and the kindest of hearts. He fought his illness with dignity and strength and he will never be forgotten by anyone who knew him. We wish to extend our deepest and heartfelt sympathies to Lizzie, Eamonn and Ronan and his entire family as well as his large circle of friends. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers at this very sad time.
