FOOTBALL NEWS: It is with profound sadness that the Region Sports Network announces the passing of esteemed Hobart football coach Tom Kerr.

Coach Kerr, a defensive stalwart under Coach Don Howell, played a pivotal role in the Brickies' unprecedented era of success, which spanned 35 years from 1962 to 1997. Throughout his illustrious career, the 1957 Hobart High School graduate was part of a coaching staff that amassed over 300 victories and recorded only one losing season. A 1996 Indiana Football Hall of Fame inductee, Coach Kerr was instrumental in all four of Hobart's State Championship victories, orchestrating defensive units that set multiple State Title game records, including fewest yards allowed and fewest first downs allowed. Before his time on the Hobart sidelines, Kerr played collegiate football at the University of Michigan, graduating from Ann Arbor in 1961.

The Region Sports Network extends its condolences to the Brickie football family during this difficult time.
