My flared nostrils and Hal’s sincere smile are here to ask you to join us on Saturday (if it doesn’t rainšŸ¤žšŸ½) For the Chicago PorchJams Series - at 1936 W. Cornelia Ave - Brian McGrath will go on first followed by Hal and Dave.

We will do a set of some really fantastic tunes we have been working on during the pandemic, including both covers and originals. Come on out. We would love to see ya!

Hal and I will be running our Spah workshop at 2:15pm today on zoom and YouTube live. Hope you can join us. You will only need a C harmonica and a G harmonica for today’s lesson. We will be covering Groove. The heart of all music. Shuffle, train, Fox chase, rhumba, cha cha, pallet grinding/trill chording, and hambone shall all be covered! Lots of stuff and lots of opportunity to play with us! Hope to see ya. 2:15 Chicago time

Welcome to the FB page for Hal and Dave the acoustic blues and roots duo featuring Hal Stadtwald and David Kachalon. We have some exciting things coming up and hope you can join us online (and hopefully in real life.)

We will be posting more details soon. First real gig since COVID will be sat. Aug 15 for our online workshop during Spah. Will be demonstrating several grooves you can play on the harmonica, and also playing some tunes using those groves. Check out Spah.org for more details.
