Body positive strength training to help folx feel confident in their bodies

05/11/2026

(blargh, no idea why my IG reels won't auto post to FB but tired of fighting with it)

Aaaahhhh!!! Look dad, no lines!! Unlocking that trampoline skill and getting back to workouts to get my pull-up back means I get to swing with no safety lines!! Which is really cool and kinda terrifying bc my brain is like, but what if I spontaneously fall off the platform instead of taking off and grabbing the bar? Has it ever happened? No. Is it technically possible? Yes 🤣

I'm glad I kept showing up to my happy place for the past 2 years, even if I got there 30 minutes late some days. The few times I missed class, I was deep in burnout and depression. The joy from trapeze helped me survive and start finding my way back to myself. It's so cool to achieve a goal like this, but it's still exciting to have goals again beyond showing up.

Heyo! I'm still consistently inconsistent, with vacation last month throwing me off my routine of posting on IG. But not totally off my routine of walking most days and short workouts! And I started prepping my garden and my bike in the warm weather. It's been nice to emerge from burnout and have the energy to take care of myself and my space. And to set some goals beyond just showing up (and maybe start hitting them 🤞)

More on that later this week, but wanted to pop on and say that progress is about getting back on your path again and again. Your path doesn't judge you for sitting down to rest or wandering off on an ADHD side quest. Maybe you found some new tools or friends. But when you're ready, you can find your way back to your path and keep moving towards your goals.

Aaah!! Such a gorgeous afternoon for a walk to the end of the 606, with a stop at for a Cherry Earl Grey iced cocoa on my way home. And I've never actually gone up the spiral to the observatory at the west end of the trail. I love biking but there is easier to wander and explore random little spots while walking.

Ahhh ADHD and routine disruption! Struggled to get back to my daily walk once the weather warmed up, but on it now. Like many things in the world, fitness is about progress not perfection. Every little bit helps.

Got some sunshine on my face before hibernating for a few days! Don't forget to leave your sink trickling and change the filter on your furnace. Stay warm!

Walking outside seems reasonable if it's above 15° right? At least it beats cabin fever and seasonal depression. Keep on keepin on, take care of your people, and f*ck 🧊 of all sorts.

Didn't go for a walk in the cold, but got my steps in with a small dance party with friends! Danced from 7-9, foam rolled (so key as I get older!), and going to bed at 11. Adulting mostly sucks, but being able to setup pretty lights and a fog machine at home, and have a friend bring their DJ kit is pretty awesome!

How are you staying warm and finding joy?

I'm so glad I started building a daily walking habit when it was nice out last week or there's no way I would have left the house today. Brr! And f*ck both kinds of 🧊

Another gorgeous day for a walk, but forgot that my head gets cold when it's freshly buzzed!

Neat things spotted on my walk yesterday and today. I'm taking advantage of the warm weather to help build the habit of taking a daily walk. Because I am a plant who needs water and sunshine. You are also a plant who needs water and sunshine. Have you gone for a walk this week?
