You replayed one email for two days and answered it in four words.
There are 10 weeks left in the year, and you don’t have the energy to spend them taking everything personally.
Someone can sound annoyed and still be right. Before you react to how it sounded, write down what was actually said. Usually it’s one sentence. Your brain turned it into a paragraph.
A short email at 6 PM usually means a full inbox. It doesn’t automatically mean your manager is upset with you. If you don’t know what they meant, ask. Don’t fill the gap with the worst version you can imagine.
When feedback is vague, ask for specifics. “Can you show me what you’d like me to do differently?” gives you something you can use. Replaying it for two days gives you nothing.
And if you can’t tell whether it’s a bad day, a difficult manager or a real gap, an outside view helps. A career coach helps you sort those three apart. You get clear on what to address, what to ignore, and when it may be time to move on.
