Youth Travel Baseball Why Become a Land Shark? The Land Sharks work on all three of these aspects by using the experience in our staff. This is not a summer job.

We feel the players in our organization deserve good coaching, supportive training and the chance to grow as a person. We invite you to see what we are all about and how we plan to grow in the future! We are launching girls’ softball for 2016 at the 10U and 12U level. Our teams are coached by people who have been around the game their entire lives. Each coach has a different resume. This includes

Varsity High School baseball, college level playing (some D-1), minor league playing while several are current and former high school coaches right here in Michiana! All of them have coached for more than two years and have proven to us that they can lead a team of young
people. Most of our coaches have 10+ years coaching. When coaching kids, we feel it is a great advantage to have kids of your own. Although young coaches always help out the program, we want Managers who are also parents to be in charge of the teams . Our coaches at this level are not paid; they do this because of the love for the game and kids. This is competitive travel baseball and we certainly want to win but will not sacrifice “the right way” to get it done. Our coaches are not driven by “plastic trophies”; they are teaching the game of baseball/softball and preparing the kids for the next level. We want our players to make their respective high school teams! Each manager and coach is responsible for good behavior and being the right teacher for the players. We have a travel baseball/softball Director who oversees the program and the coaches. A great example

Since our coaching staff has several High School coaches and many of us have a son/daughter playing at local schools. We understand what foundation they need to be successful. Our goal is to send players to their respective High Schools ready to contribute to the program. The High School season is very short and coaches have very little time to work on kids that are “projects”. We want to send them players that have the basic skills to help the team on day one!

Very happy to announce that former Landsharks player Diego Cardenas, has committed to the University of Indianapolis to continue his academic career and play baseball. Diego played on our 16u and 17u Landsharks teams. We have no doubt that Diego will go on to accomplish great things both on and off the field.

Former Landsharks player Jacob Velez has opted to serve his country as a member of the United States Navy. Jacob leaves for boot camp in four days. We are proud of you Jacob and wish you the best.

As the weather gets warmer, it makes me miss being on the field with last years Sharks team…it’s been great seeing them compete for their high school teams…but I really do miss coaching these boys. The memories will always be there.

Thank you LandShark Families for a wonderful memorable 3 years. The Cardenas familia would like to extend a HUGE thanks to Coach Kelly Bello for all his time planning, communicating, and fostering a healthy Coach to player relationship with each and every young man on the team. Every mile we traveled, Gatorade purchased, stain we cleaned, and money spent was worth it ALL, AND, we'd repeat again. Larry and I wish all our boys the best of luck on their future endeavors and do know that each and every family has touched a part of our heart in some shape or form.

Well it’s here...our final weekend as Coaches with the Landsharks. I knew this weekend was coming but it came way to quick. I wanted to take a moment to thank Jim Robinson and Marc Waite for running such a class travel ball program. It’s been an honor to coach in such a great organization. I also wanted to thank my partner in crime Larry Cardenas for coaching with me these past 3 years. I cannot thank you enough for all that you have done for me and these kids. It’s been a great ride and let’s close this thing out with a great weekend of baseball!
