Well…this is 50!
Friends! My 50th birthday this Friday. Many of you have seen my posts/stories volunteering at a farm in Holland, MI. I’m asking for donations to Fellinlove Farm. This place is near and dear to my heart. It’s run by an amazing couple and their two special needs daughters. They rely on volunteers and donations to help keep the farm up and running and serving the community.
I hope you’ll consider contributing what you can as a way to celebrate with me. Every little bit will help me reach my goal. I’ve included information about Fellinlove Farm below.
Fellinlove Farm is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization (public charity) with the mission to improve our guests’ quality of life by providing dynamic experiences for all ages and abilities through:
~hands on interactions with our diverse animals
~socialization and educational opportunities
~outdoor discoveries of nature in a serene setting

20 years ago today I showed up to take the exam to be an ACE-certified personal trainer. After months and months of studying I walked into the college classroom, spent a couple hours there stressing myself out, and walked out convinced that I had failed and would need to retake it. Fortunately I found out a couple weeks later that I passed!
In the last 20 years I have worked with hundreds of people from kids to advanced seniors and everything in between. So many clients have turned into amazing friends. It’s been incredibly rewarding being there and seeing the change in people from when they first walk in my door. Not only the physical change in their bodies, but the change in their confidence and demeanor. The joy that comes from working hard and reaping all the benefits. It will never get old.
I absolutely love what I do and hope to be doing it for another 20 years.
On our way to Michigan to see my parents, volunteer at the farm, and attend my son’s college graduation!
I’ve always been a fast walker! 🤷🏻♂️
Vit D, fresh air, and exercise
“Mark… you’re about to turn 50. Why are you up at 6am on a Sunday flipping tires?”
Do I look like I’m 50? Do I move like I’m 50? I surely don’t act 50! 😆
This is about feeling good and maintaining the quality of life I want to have for years to come. I want to be able to be out on the basketball court until the wheels fall off. I want to continue to play in volleyball leagues until I can’t jump anymore. I want to run around with my grandkids someday. Working out and eating right is as important as brushing my teeth and showering. It’s just what I do to hold off father-time as long as I can.
