🏴‍☠️ Hannah Fedinec

A product of Downers Grove South High School, Hannah arrives after a dominant season at Loras College Women's Soccer.

11 shutouts in 19 matches.
0.33 goals against average.

Backbone numbers.

She’s been there when it counts — shutting the door in a 1-0 win over a rival to clinch a conference title and NCAA bid.

Pregame never changes:
Right sock. Left sock.
Right shoe. Left shoe.
Right glove. Left glove.

Hannah Fedinec adds to the growing wall of goalkeepers at Steel City.

🏴‍☠️ Gloria Briana Barrios

Gloria Barrios brings production.

A product of Lincoln-Way East High School, Barrios arrives after a breakout freshman season at Joliet Junior College.

7 goals.
7 assists.

All while helping power a nationally ranked JJC side through one of the most historic seasons in program history.

She's now off to the University of St. Francis to continue her upward trajectory.

The work behind it is simple:
Runs.
Weights.
Extra sessions alone on the field.

Pregame?
Music loud enough to flip the switch.

New season.
New threat in red and black.

🏴‍☠️ STEEL ENGINE

Speed changes games.

Olivia Ostrowski has plenty of it.

A national qualifier in the 400m for JJC’s track team, she’ll head to New York this May to compete against the best in the country.

That same engine powers her on the pitch.

As co-captain of JJC’s nationally ranked squad, Olivia helped lead one of the most historic seasons in program history - an 11-game winning streak to start the year and a run to the NJCAA Midwest District Championship match.

Along the way, she led the team with 9 assists.

Pregame never changes:
Honey Stinger waffle before warmups.
A prayer before kickoff.

Off-season work comes at Xtreme Speed, sharpening the acceleration that already separates her.

Fast.
Selfless.
Built to lead.
Ostrowski is back.

🏴‍☠️ CRASH QUEEN

First to the ball.
Last to flinch.

The box is her territory.

At Joliet Junior College Women's Soccer, Kayla Adrieansen anchored a historic season. The Wolves ripped off 11 straight wins to open the year, finished 13-4-1, and spent most of the season ranked nationally before reaching the NJCAA Division III Midwest District Championship match.

Kayla was everywhere in the numbers - top of the region in save percentage, piling up shutouts, even adding assists off booming punts.

Before that, she built the foundation at Lincoln-Way West High School — a four-year starter and regional champion.

Pregame never changes:
Pop or rap in the car.
Rock blasting once the AirPods go in.
Bucked Up in the system.

Off-season?
Lifetime Fitness every day.
Reflex work off garage walls with anything that bounces.

Because when the match starts, the mindset is simple:
The goal is my house.
You are not welcome.

🏴‍☠️ DILLINGER

A marauding outside defender from Beecher, Dillinger brings energy, bite, and a relentless engine up and down the line.

Before every kickoff, Alyssa has the same routine — kneeling on the field for a quiet prayer.

Her college season was cut short with a broken wrist in the opening match, but the setback has sharpened her resolve. She was key to Steel City Women’s 2026 indoor championship season in Chicago.

Off the field, she will develop the next generation of players as the JV assistant coach for the girls program at Providence Catholic Soccer.

A multi-sport athlete at Governors State, Dillinger brings a competitive edge and leadership - as a culture carrier - wherever she steps.

🏴‍☠️ FOUNDATION TO FUTURE

Some players help start something.
Others stay to build what it becomes.

Makenzie Kaput did both.

Kaput anchored the back line as the women's program developed.

And the commitment ran deep - she’d drive two hours down from Wisconsin just to make training.

Now in her second year on the sideline, she’s helping shape the next generation of Steel City Women.

The Plainfield native was ESCC Conference Defender of the Year at the University of Parkside and a two-time All-Stater at Joliet Catholic Academy, where she captained the program for three seasons.

Her club roots run through Galaxy SC, one of the region’s most respected pipelines.

Steel City runs in the family, too. Makenzie and her brother Tyler became the first sibling duo to represent the club, with starring as a midfielder on the 2022 side.

Today Kaput continues to rise in the game, coaching both with Steel City and Legacy SC -carrying forward the same standards she helped establish as a player.

The strongest foundations are built by the players who never really leave.

🏴‍☠️ GERFEN

Steel City doesn’t work without a backbone.

Thea Gerfen is exactly that.

No-nonsense defender with bite in every challenge.

Tough. Aggressive. Fearless.

The Tinley Park native captained Lincoln-Way East High School to a State Final Four run — the kind of leadership that leaves fingerprints on a program.

At Husson University, she keeps building.

Game day never changes:
Bagel with peanut butter.
Hard-boiled eggs.
Fruit.
Hair in a bun.

Routine. Discipline. Steel.

🏴‍☠️ DEFENSIVE BOSS

Bravo plays outside back the way Joliet was built – direct and unapologetic.

Fitness freak.
Fearlessly authentic.

Passion wired straight through the studs.

Her intensity dictates the attacker’s next move, and it’s usually backwards.

She’s worn the armband at multiple college programs and has battled through the toughest leagues in Chicago.

Her side of the field is locked down.

🏴‍☠️ THE SURGEON

A graduate of the University of Alabama.

Now in med school.

On the field? She’s already operating.

Steel City Women’s all-time assist leader. She sees the cut before it opens.

A big-game player she netted twice in the state semi-final for Joliet Catholic Academy, and registered six goals and eleven assists in her last season as a Lady Tide.

Olive Garden and a mile the day before kickoff is her routine.

This year she’s not just playing, she’s helping evaluate the next wave at tryouts.

Veteran presence. Builder mindset.

Future doctor.
Present leader.

02/13/2026

🏴‍☠️ RUSTBELT RELENTLESS

She buried the final PK in a shootout to win the first playoff match in Elmhurst University’s program history.

And we all remember last year’s direct-free-kick scorcher from 35 yards.

That’s nerve.

Before every match it’s ritual:
Right sock.
Left sock.
Right shoe.
Left shoe.

Then she taps the lucky poker chip - custom made by her dad.

A destroyer in midfield.
Vicious in the tackle.
Calm on the ball.
Built on that Lincoln-Way East Final Four backbone.

She doesn’t chase the moment. She closes it.

Emily Herlihy is back in red and black.
