“The damn HEAT!” Or....
“Yes, I get to TRAIN in heat!”
I tend to always look at the upside. And when it comes to training, training in the HEAT has its benefits. Yes, it’s hard as hell, but if you attack it correctly, you’ll leave the workout with fitness instead of being over fatigued.
1) Adding rests in strategic places instead of randomly or when you “feel tired”.
2) Change paces or give yourself grace on speeds and run based off of perceived effort.
3) Or, I take this one from , being drained and fatigued late in the training session gets your brain ready for the race. You could tell yourself, this will make me stronger come race day.
Keep a positive attitude and a smile on your face and training will always be more productive.

Since I just “did” CrossFit I better tell people about it right?!?!
I had a FREAKING blast with this style of competition. Out of my comfort zone, hell yes. I wanted to do scaled 2 weeks from the event and decided to lean into the “do hard things” and stayed in the RX.
I’m still not good at sn**ches, kipping pull ups, double unders and toe to bars. But, I’m better.
More than anything, I’m proud of myself.

HARDEST MILE on Global Run Day.
THE HARDEST MILE IS….
-Burpee broad jump (BBJ) 400m
-Bear crawl 400m
-Walking lunges 400m
-Run 400m
To me RUNNING is more than the MILES.
-its community
-its conversation
-its discpline
-its early mornings
-its consistency
-its my lifestyle
-its competition
-its for mental health
-its to give me a strong heart
-its so I do hard things
WHAT is running to you?

This is 42.
decided to throw a birthday party for me and they called it SUMMER SMASH 💥
Grateful for those I knew via IG and got to meet in person. Also grateful to deepen existing relationships with my S2, KC and fitness tribe.
I’m leaving this weekend filled to the brims. Here’s a paraphrased quote from when he took the main stage…..
“It doesn’t matter who you are, as long as a year from now your better. Raise your bar and raise others up”
Who’s ready to raise the bar next year?
