Check this out: San Miguel de Allende's ban on single-use plastics and styrofoam took effect on January 1st, but that didn't stop street vendors from serving up meals. Some vendors are now using corn husks as plates, which can be composted after use and are completely biodegradable.

After a very long and difficult road to legalize street food vendors here in Chicago, IL, today Claudia was able to apply for a "Mobile Prepared Food Vendor" license. She was missing a few documents and needs to get her pushcarts inspected but after getting all requirements and passing inspection, she should have her license soon!!
It has been a long fight and street food vendors in Chicago have faced a difficult time with the city and police but as of today, food vendors can now legally sell prepared food in Chicago!!
Asociacion de Vendedores Ambulantes (Street Vendors Asccociation) will continue to fight for street vendors and make conditions better for them!
