This is what a coached, skilled, and focused high school holder looks like. Most high school kickers can only dream of getting holds like that…laces tilt, body positioning. Credit to Michigan Kicking Academy for coaching of this holder and the picture.

This young kicker was definitely ready for the kicking camp. High level of consistency, focus and skill as an 11-year old. In this video, you can see amazing attention to detail he takes as he takes his alignment steps. Great moment and core memory to last a lifetime!

Designed for kickers and punters ages 12–19, this camp is the perfect opportunity to fine-tune your technique before the biggest games of the season.

So…there is a personality and disposition that a coach doesn’t want from his kicker?
ABSO-FRICKEN-LUTELY!
It may differ from coach to coach…but in my experience not much.
Usual traits coaches are looking for:
- emotionally stable (not getting too high or low)
- focused and confident
- knowledgeable about the craft without being too analytical when talking about it
- easy going / not obsessive personality.
