Ever wondered how much longer you can expect to live by living a healthy lifestyle? I'm sure you have. I can say the thought has crossed my mind.
Scientists conducted a large international study led by Harvard over many years to get to an answer.
They also took it one step further: how many of those extra years would be free of three common chronic diseases--heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and cancer.
The answers:
Women
Add 14 total years; 10 disease free years
Men
Add 12 total years; 8 disease free years
