Jalen speaks candidly about the business side of modern college football and how NIL, recruiting, and the transfer portal have changed the game for athletes today. While earning a free college education was one of his biggest goals, he explains how he also wants to create long-term wealth through football by investing smartly and building a stable future for himself and his family. His maturity and perspective at such a young age make this conversation stand out from typical recruiting interviews.

Jalen Williams’ journey is a reminder that patience, growth, and development can completely alter the direction of your life.
At one point, he was known primarily as a standout high school basketball player. Then came the transition — adding weight, converting to tight end, learning a different level of physicality, detail, and understanding of the game.
At this time he was committed to USF, solid in his position and thankful for the opportunity. But he stayed patient, kept working, and had a tremendous senior season that shifted everything. His recruitment changed. His opportunities expanded. And ultimately, the process brought him closer to home as he decommitted from USF and committed to Cincinnati.
That’s why patience matters.
Sometimes your breakthrough comes late in the process. Sometimes the version of you that receives the opportunity has to be developed first.
Jalen kept growing instead of panicking.
Kept building instead of complaining.
Kept believing instead of folding.
And the process responded.
Nothing accidental about it.
Development changed the trajectory.

Kaden Hurst is one of the toughest athletes mentally that I’ve been around.
His journey toward becoming a Division I athlete hasn’t been smooth or easy. It’s been uphill battles, adversity, setbacks, and moments that would’ve made many people quit or lose belief.
But his maturity through the process has allowed him to continue growing, adjusting, and pushing forward. That mindset has already helped him accomplish so much — and there’s still more ahead.
Toughness isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s simply the ability to keep going, keep believing, and keep working when things don’t unfold the way you hoped.
