We teach our students that the core of being an artist is being true to yourself. Truth is not always pretty, it does not always feel good, and it comes with major sacrifices. But truth is the firmest foundation that anyone can stand on.

Our photography students were courageous enough to reveal their present truth in order to grown as human beings, as women, and as artist. In doing so, they were able to photograph their classmates “truth” with more understanding, empathy, and compassion.

Today MIC’s Photography students learned how to freeze moving objects using a high shutter speed, post production terminologies and techniques in Adobe Lightroom , as well as applied their custom logos (made by our very own MIC Graphic Designer instructor) to their finished product!

We can teach anyone how to click a button on a camera. We can teach anyone how to use editing software. We can teach anyone how to create logos and websites. But can you teach another human being to trust themselves? Can you teach them that their voice, their art, their thoughts matter? Can you teach them to make a living off their voice, their art, their passion? We can. We do!

We are more than just instructors.

Happy Saturday MIC family! We've just received a dope surprise from our photography student Amourr Elteriayah this morning. She was so inspired by the beauty of the snow that she was compelled to snap a photo. She utilized the tools she has learned thus far for our intro to photography course such as composition, texture, rule of thirds, and mood setting. We are so proud of you and you are well on your way to not only becoming a great photographer but starting your own business as well! Keep up the great work!
