Patience is not sometimes I’ve been known to have much of. In days way past, I used to describe myself as living life at 80 miles an hour . . . the foolish fantasy of an ambitious young man. Then along came Transverse Myelitis with its inability to predict any timeframe for recovery. Its almost as if TM was given to me as a life adventure adapted to teach me the value of patience, the joy of the journey. This morning I could wiggle the toes on left foot all by myself . . . it’s been months since I’ve seen this small miracle. This is what can happen when we give time, time. I was contemplating whether or not to do my physical therapy today. Did I have time? Should I see how my day goes first? Then, I read this meditation – clearly, anything outside of me could be used as an excuse not to do my PT today. This last week has been pretty tough. I had to have a vacuum pump on a pressure ulcer. I t got me feeling pretty sorry for myself until I saw this quote:

Hi, everybody. I want to make sure that any of our members in the Chicagoland area or southeastern WI are aware of an up coming fun event sponsored by the TMA . . . We're going to Walk-Run-N-Roll on Sunday, September 16th from 10:00am -1:00.
