Internet Archive's San Francisco Scanning Center destroyed by a fire. Luckily most of the hard copies were offsite, and of the physical items in the Center, half had been digitized. But still, what a loss. Ninestars and State and University Library, Denmark sign historic digitisation deal to digitise 32 million historical newspaper pages in 2014-2016, in one of the largest digitisation initiatives in Europe
BANGALORE, SEPTEMBER 10, 2013: Ninestars Information Technologies Ltd., a leading digital content solutions provider, announced today that it has been selected by The State and University Library, Aarhus, Denmark for the digitisation of 32 million Danish newspaper pages. The digitisation project, one of the largest of its kind in the industry, has come about partly on the basis of a special appropriation under the Danish Budget Law, and it has a total grant of DKK 23 million.

Just met with a new client -- a local non profit called Fight the Inferno. It is an organization devoted to HIV/AIDS services and education on Chicago's West Side. We spent a couple of hours working on the founder's computer and it was good. So happy to be involved with this organization!
