Chicago Sidewinders Baseball

Sidewinders look to keep the momentum rolling against the bears today at heritage park. First pitch scheduled for 4pm.

Sunday's forecast up north called for revenge, and it did not disappoint. The Sidewinders improved their record to 3-2 on the season with a swift 10-3 victory against the Expos.

Nick Orlando, Lance Voss, Juan Rosales, and Jim Charek, each produced multiple RBIs, which provided all of the run support needed. Pitching was spot on with Jim Charek providing 6 scoreless innings earning the win and Pat Badia shutting the door for the day.

The defense held strong against a well hitting Expos team, BUT there was one player who easily had the play of the game (and possibly the season). In the bottom of the 5th inning with runners on 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs, Alex Stitgen made a diving play in left field robbing the Expos of 2 runs!

This weekend the Sidewinders travel back to Wheeling to face off against the Bears looking to extend their winning streak to 3 games. See you there!

Sidewinders look to get some revenge on the expos after opening day.

***Victory Monday***

Despite running into a roadblock game 1 with really good pitching and defense by the Bombers, the Sidewinders were able to bounce back in impressive order taking game 2 resulting in the Bomber's first loss of the season. Leading the charge, Nick Orlando and Lance Voss each recorded 2 hits and 3 RBIs generating much needed run support for the game with Justin Pokorski and Tony Marcellino each recording 2 hits keeping the lineup moving. Jim Charek tamed the Bombers potent offense pitching a complete game with giving up 3 earned runs while striking out 12.

This weekend the Sidewinders travel up north for another showdown with the Expos looking for revenge after dropping the season opener to them!
