Do you practice opening a book on a "random" page to get a piece of wisdom?
In Buddhism, the universe is naturally governed by the laws of cause and effect. Causality rules both the realms of physical and mental experience; nothing happens by chance, all things are interconnected and interdependent.
This was today's message from the book "An Introduction to the Buddha and his Teachings":
"Riding the Bull Home
Mounting the bull, slowly I returned homeward.
The voice of my flute intones through the evening.
Measuring with hand-beats the pulsating harmony, I direct the endless rhythm.
Whoever hears this melody will join me.
COMMENT: This struggle is over; gain and loss are assimilated. I sing the song of the village woodsman, and play the tunes of the children. Astride the bull, I observe the clouds above. Onward I go, no matter who may wish to call me back. "
We hope this teaching resonates with you.

What is Shaolin? What is Shaolin Kung Fu?
Shaolin is a meditation practice used to determine the state of affairs lying beneath the surface of a human being, a way to observe the universal wisdom or intelligence that lies beneath the patterns of movement of the human body. Originating in the hills of the Songshan Mountain, the practice deals with the true nature of humankind, the true nature lying beneath the mind’s reality.
It is also a physical exercise that allows a person to enter a meditative state through physical movement, resulting in the development of a human being’s fullest potential. Combined with the practice and wisdom of Chan (Zen) Buddhism, a unique faith and culture practice brimming with the possibility of experiencing the light of illumination and the enlightenment promised by following the Buddha’s Way was born. This is Shaolin Kung Fu.
