Spring is here, and that means a refresh for our Uptown diarama- Thank you for making our window displays fresh and friendly!!

Several people have come into Broadway Bikes expressing desire to feel more confident navigating the streets of Chicago, so we are hosting a class! In collaboration with , we are excited to announce City Cycling 101- a safety skills class dedicated to building confidence on the road!

If you are 18+ and know how to ride a bike but want to learn some safety skills, join us Sunday May 17 from 11-1:30 for this hands-on class. Registration is required, so please register at the link in our bio!

We are excited to be hosting this class in collaboration with . This class is one example of the kinds of educational opportunities has to offer, as a community bike shop. Be sure to check out their open shop, classes, volunteer opportunities and community events!

Thanks to everyone who came out and got a Winter Special this February! Because of you, we were able to donate $862.50 to the Midwest Immigration Bond Fund, Centro de Trabajadores Unidos en La Lucha, Organized Communities Against Deportations, and the Council on American-Islamic Relations Minnesota. Thank you for supporting us and for support these orgs in their essential work.

This week, we will be donating to the Midwest Immigration Bond Fund. MIBF pays out immigration-related bonds for residents of, and people detained in: Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.

The ICE occupation in the Twin Cities is ongoing, and low-wage and immigrant workers continue to face urgent threats to their safety and livelihoods. CTUL is a worker-led immigrant justice organization on the frontlines of the resistance in Minneapolis and St. Paul. This week, we will be donating to CTUL’s rapid response fund to provide immediate rent support for CTUL members.

OCAD has been central to the fight to protect immigrant communities against deportation, detention, and criminalization, through legal aid, political advocacy work, mutual aid, Rapid Response network organizing, Know Your Rights Trainings, and community education since 2013. This week, we will be donating 10% of our Winter Special Tune Up Sales to OCAD’s general fund which supports the Family Support Network Hotline, Rapid Response teams, and legal cases challenging CBP and ICE activities.
