As we cross 5k YouTube subscribers and 4M total YouTube device views, let's take a moment to quantify the effect that semi-pro bocce has had in its first 200 days. The numbers on the left represent the data from just the 200 days leading up to the start of OBL Season 1, while the numbers on the right represent the data from just the 200 days since then.
The numbers don't lie! Professionalizing our product in just these two regions (so far) has led to a huge jump in our ability to promote our beautiful sport. In only a little over 3 years since BBN started as two cameras and a laptop at the Troy, NY ICC, we’ve been able to put our sport in front of hundreds of millions of people, with well over 200 million views across all platforms.
YouTube has always been our focus for long term growth and success, as that is where we host our live broadcasts and long-form content -- but YouTube numbers can be very hard to come by. That is why we are especially proud of our YouTube growth.
We continue to experiment, making plenty of mistakes and ruffling a feather or ten along the way but one thing that we can promise is that we are not gonna stop. We won't stop improving our product. We won't stop creating opportunities for players. And we won't stop telling the story of our sport and of all those that came before us, who made it possible for some of us to devote our lives to its promotion.
The future we are working towards can seem unrealistic and unattainable, especially for those that aren't pounding the metaphorical pavement with us, day in and day out. But take a look at all that we've been able to achieve so far. With our accelerating growth, those lofty goals may not be so far-fetched after all.
Why not us? Why not bocce?
As we ramp up towards the end of S2 in Ohio and start to turn our attention back to broadcasting and promoting the tournaments that got us to where we are now, I'd like to say a special thank you to each and every one of our 5k YouTube subs, 70k+ social media followers, and every bocce lover across the world that continues to support us in our mission.
Thank you to everyone who has helped us get to this point and here's to the future.
-Mike

Congratulations to our Season 1 Regular Season Most Valuable Player, Vanessa Garippo! Vanessa received an overwhelming percentage of the fan vote AND player vote to run away with the Season 1 MVP Award. Vanessa led the Park Ridge Penguins to the second best regular season record in the CBL, falling just one game short of winning the North Division pennant. Runners up were the Highwood Stallions' Tom Holleman and the Elmwood Park Eagles' Anthony La Barbera. Congratulations to all on a great first season and a fantastic start to their professional careers!
